I was able to squeeze in a flight yesterday after work, nicest day we are going to have this week..
I did shoot some video but it is shaky, I need to look into another mount option.

I flew a bit on the "one nice day in forever" as well. Was nice. About time for my annual.

This year I plan to do a lot of distant cross-country flights. I can't let Tom get too far ahead of me in that arena, and he can't seem to keep his Tango on the ground out there in Texas.

Glad things are going well, Scott. I've only been happy with mounting the camera on myself (helmet-cam, chest-cam) for decent videos. Every place on -any- gyro seems to vibrate too much. Although, I seem to recall GyroGerald got some reasonable videos mounting on the landing gear.

Great to see you enjoying your new toy Scott - looks very pretty.
The new GoPro 8 Black has insanely good stabilization, I imagine it will work on the gyro.
Here is a video I shot from the Aircam with a Hero 8 facing forward and a Hero 7 Black (also good stabilization) on the side

Just an FYI on the camera thing, remember the first and second gen digital cameras? they had like 640 resolution, but they did not have the jello effect, that is because they used CCD sensors, all new cameras use the CMOS or rolling shutter sensors now, except very high end cameras, because they are very much cheaper and use less power. The GoPro still uses the CCD, thus much better image stabilization, and higher cost, just in case you were interested.

The main method of stabilization in the newer cameras like the Go Pro 7 and 8 apart from rolling shutter is done by recording an image that is a little larger than the final image and then the in camera software essentially moves the final image around to smooth out vibration. So the final image is a slight crop from the recorded image.
