 Gyro flying in Alaska

Breathtaking scenery, but also very inhospitable terrain, I know they were filming from another aircraft, but dang! I would be afraid to fly over that stuff, especially there, I mean there are no people around, you would never be found if you went down....Cool video though.

It's not about the Rotax not failing but the built in feature of the gyro being able to climb after an engine out is the real trick here.

Ya YA YA i get that every time when i learned to fly in Alaska! I just made the factual decission that water Glacier or Forest. If the engine goes out you are equally dead! So shut up, Fly and enjoy Gods last place he touched. That was filmed right by my House where I learned to fly. Its not that far from Anchorage about 20 miles or so. However there are a million places to get screwed with mountain wave and things if the weather is not just right. Also you can get caught in micro climates that come in very quickly if you do not know what you are doing.
