I just got an inquiry from someone looking at the weather wondering if the event was going to be cancelled or moved to another time because of rain.

...I was polite in my reply...I was...really.

Wed, Thur, Sat, is a 20% chance of rain, Fri, is 10%.....
Its Florida, in the spring it is supposed to rain once a day....

Tuesday .... We got the gyro unloaded, rotored up.... I flew a check flight ... then Jim hopped in the backseat ... & we flew around for 1/2 hour ...watching the system coming in from the gulf! ... We got "Festey" tucked into Kent's hangar .... had a nice afternoon nap during the rainstorm ... nice clearing weather for the late afternoon gyro-sky-fest! Jim got a 1\2 hr lesson with Chris Lord and put in some nice landings in a gusty 10-13kt cross wind! The new larger seat is A WINNER for allowing full stck back for the landing flare! Very relaxed & enjoying the ambience .... NO Wussies here .... working around the usual FL spring weather ....... hangar flying while awaiting the rain to pass ... getting airborne when the weather allows!

Our campsite neighbors are arriving.... "gloveman Dave" ... got in mid-day-ish ...Mike Grosshans ... expected in about midnight!
Roy Davis, Dave& Jonelle from carolinas ... came in today
Nice weather shaping up next 3 days - at least!

It's Florida. We have the stupid rain coming off the Golf.
Once the high pressure builds up the Jet moves lower and Wauchula is right on the edge.

Thanks.
I hope the silly rainy/windy swirl goes away.
We are having a high pressure sitting right over us.

I am happy to see the Eurogyros but at the same time I am a little sad to see the amateur built (non kit) in such a small numbers so far.
It's early though. A lot of people can only make one or two days do Friday and Saturday shall be the real snap shot of the whole thing.
Looks like the Dominators are still in large part of the event.
