Congrats on your award, Chris. It is long overdue for the efforts you have employed to further the sport.

THANKS ...Jeff, Gabs & Jon!!

Jim & I REALLY enjoyed the whole week ... slow & quiet at the start & time for in-depth visiting with fellow early-birds ... enjoy the flying / training ... getting familiar with the area & not too crowded skies ... ... it was exciting to watch the event build momentum through Wed - Thursday to peak on Friday & Saturday! I enjoyed talking to so many & met quite a few newbies & connected the faces with names from RWF!

What do you guys think the reason Ernie used the rods on his blades like that? I have just noticed it on Chris' pics that they are like that.

Looks rather bulky and ugly.
Funny SportCopter blades don't need that shit.
They are just freaking good as is out of the box.....
Thanks for the chiming in.
I wasn't sure why that was necessary but when I flew that gyro with the Yammie on the blades were slowing down rapidly at climb out.
The prop out-flew the blades!!!!!!!!!!!

:eek :eek :eek

Sport copter blades are wide chord, the skinny dragon wings want to twist more on heavy machines, that is why everyone who has them complains about the shake, torsional stiffness or something like that.

I got a kick out of a thread on RWF several years ago where people were rating blades. LOTS of folks were extolling the vast greatness of Dragon Wings. I happened to ask to which other rotors they were referring by comparison. It wasn't a shock, I suppose. Almost none of the Dragon Wings fans had ever flown anything else.

I don't dislike Dragon Wings for a light machine. They are also the least expensive. But, Dragon Wings are not my first choice if its my machine. I say this having flown a fair variety of rotors on a variety of different machines, including Dragons Wings on light and heavy machines.

He's up to 24 hours total CFI training in gyro ...12 of those in the Titanium ...plus the one with Sam - not in his book!

Both Michael & Greg say he is very close to solo ... just needs to get those landings consistent
( when we get the bigger front seat in Festey ... that should help sit him back & down to give better clearance with full-back-stick! ... main issue with getting nice landings!)
