The funniest thing flying open machines, is you learn how to wave to someone.... and how not to (without doing a U turn or dislocating your shoulder) :badluck :laughing :laughing :Wolvie

Not only that but just turning your head from looking forward turning to either side you'll learn the difference between open face and shielded helmets.
I have been flying with Loftie's shielded one and got used to it.
My open face without the shield puts a serious punch in the face compared to his.
It is much harder on your neck.

Yeah, I know about that.... my old machine was good for 90 kts, I used a full face motorbike helmet.... anything over 70, if I looked to the right, I had to use my hand to push my helmet back to front on :killme :laughing so over 70, had to shrug my helmet down onto my shoulders and not look anywhere, not even up (especially not up... don't ask me how I know this) :realcrazy

Then I went to a helicopter helmet, with the clear screen and dark screen..... at anything over about 70kts, as well as having to shrug the helmet onto my shoulders, the wind would syphon the snot out of my nose :eek :laughing :laughing unless I looked down.....

One day I want to make a machine you sit on like you sit on a sports motorbike or jetski.... but that involves the rudder being on the joystick, (no pedals).... so you lean forward which is how helmets are designed to go thru the air :like ..... sort of like the Trixi, but completely different :rofl :rofl :Wolvie

My risk threshold has been reduced a lot.
A lot lot since I quit instructing.
The older I get the older I will be.

Yep. This is where you decide how you want to spend the last trimester of your life.
Including health wise also. I sure try to remain mobile and active as long as I can.
This is also the age the brain develops certain areas.
Rational decision makings start developing in the area of brain from age 25 and up.
I have been apparently missing that stage for the last 25 years....
Trying to catch up. :wol2

Does that mean the viagra is a "recreational" drug?

Like the old lady that asks at the drug store...."I was wondering if I could get something to get my husband back in action.... down there?" :noidea

The drug store guy says "Well, there is Viagra.... just give him one pill and it should work just dandy" :like

She asks "Could he get it over the counter?" :noidea

The guy says "He'll probably need 2 or 3 tablets for that" :eek :laughing :laughing :pop :Wolvie

We were warmly welcomed by the Peachstate Rotor Club on our arrival Wednesday with offers of chairs in the shade and cold drinks. When our grandsons arrived on Thursday they were welcomed also. John Pipe even shared his gyro-kite with them. It is that kind of making visitors feel welcome that really stood out this year. No one person or group was rude nor cold. But the Georgia guys waved people over, spoke first, and generally made us feel as if we belonged there. Hope you enjoy the short video .

Here are some grandsons with machines they choose to have their photo taken with. They were picky about which machines to be seen with. It looks good; it hovers; we can sit in it; and in this one too.

Thanks Tom. You are very correct. This year we had extra smiles and no rudeness.

It always makes me proud to hear nice things about our Georgia group. We all try very hard to show a professional and friendly presentation of gyroplane pilots and participants. We are all like-minded in that we want the sport to grow and grow in a direction that includes informed, trained and safe pilots and builders. When you accumulate a collection of such people, what they share with others is always positive.

I cannot take credit for them, but the current membership of Peach State could move mountains, should the need arise.

And they do! Jon it is a great example of leadership being able to surround yourself with such a great group.
My hats off to you and the great members of the club.
You guys are truly our best friends and greatest help.
