Life has it's ups and downs.
Fighting cancer since February of 2019 and now was just added another year of chemo.
So I need to sell the whole bird or parts.
I have a set of unused blades = $2500
Unused rotor head = $1500
New unused main transmission = $2000
Rebuilt tail rotor gearbox, pitch controls and new Tail rotor blades. = $1200
6 hour MZ202 = $2500
Never used Sprague clutch, other than test spin ups, goes with the transmission.
All new bearings, new belt.
2-5gal barrel fuel tanks. $250
All controls, cyclic and collective are in new condition and are to OEM specs.
Tail rotor boom with driveshaft and bearings $1000
Or buy the complete machine for $8000.
I have had it off the ground but do not have room to test safely.
Needs some attention, like new bolts, paint and a skilled pilot.

Jake.....Your place in this world as a very high level innovative and brilliant rotorcraft designer and builder is simply exceptional......only to be topped by the most tenacious ability to hold on to your meaningful life.

You are in a league all your own

Jake......I only wish that guy creating that helicopter could meet with you for a month. He probably would learn enough to see air under his skids.

My list of amazing people I have crossed paths with in the gyro community has you definitely one of the main ones. Dick Degraw, Gary Goldsberry, Steve McGowan, Ernie Boyette come to my mind as being on that list. Of course there are many other builders that I admire...but these impress me the most.

I would try to learn from you at Bensen days, but didn't want to bother you with so many stupid questions like a few I was invading your valuable time with...but you welcomed trying to fill my void, and I will always thank you.
I would have to have probably 5 lifetimes to actually design and build something on my own that flew......so......I am not even on the list if you could scroll down 100 feet.

I just shake my head at your ingenuity......it makes me feel so miniscule because I am.....but....I get my confidence back when bending wood. ha!

Thoughts and prayers to you Jake so that you live on to create.

Jake - so sorry you have to endure this.

It must be living hell. Wishing you all the best.

Crossing my fingers for you (if I could pray, I would).

Erik

Your talents with wood and construction have always amazed me.
If I had to make one tooth pick I would need a whole 1000 year old Red Wood Tree to get one good tooth pick ------ Maybe

My problem is the cfi here is an ass hole.He thinks he's the best in the world and wants $200 an hour minimum of 60 hours.
Then I have to drive 100 miles round trip everyday.
Then I have to find a place close and large enough to practice in.
Never thought of this stuff while Building !!
I found a large field 30 miles away, trying to get permission from the land owner.
So save that cash up and come get it before I roll it over Hahahaha

I'm heading down for my semi-annual Florida trip to see the folks on Sunday. Short notice but I'll see what I can come up with.

What does it weigh in at? Length, width, height with the blades off?

Weight is about 300lbs full of fuel and tires, no blades. I don't know what the blades weigh --- Bet Hillbilly Knows :)
7' 3" tall collective full up
7' 1" collective full down
66" width with tires
Skid is 57 1/2" without tires
19 feet long with tail rotor Vertical
17' 5" tail rotor Horizontal

Remember, this thing needs detailing, new bolts in most places, new rod ends which I have, just need changing.
All the mechanics, welding and wiring are safe for testing.
Wiring needs detailed, and secured.
New fuel lines
Needs hung for the pilot.
I designed it to have a windshield so you will have to add weight to the front for hanging if you weigh less than 200lbs.
Plus you get this confidence building sticker :) :)

I tried to send a PM but it says you don't exist???

Would have been an honor to finish this project but I just can't come up with that much right now. But I may still be able to help you by pointing out my CFI. Here's a link to one of his many video's. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SKympxURck He fly's out of Space Coast Regional, due East of Orlando. Don't know how far from you that is but he's a little cheaper than your guy, price includes helicopter, and there's no minimum hour BS.

I'll be working with him Monday and Tuesday and can get you his contact info if you're interested.

Apparently I'm not smart enough to use private messenger. I got your PM but my reply is now stuck in outgoing.

I am the one close to that. Daytona Beach.
Probably 35 minutes...the way I drive.... :rofl :gyro2
The last building is the Sheriff's. I flew their Huey in exchange for the pilot flying our Bell47.
We buzzed the off duty pilot's house. We did wake him up and he cussed us out when he came out of his house.
Good times!
